Bangladesh Chiefs of State 2001

On 15 July 2001, retired Chief Justice Latifur Rahman was sworn in as head of a caretaker government after the previous government served out its full five- year term. The principal task of the caretaker government is to oversee the national elections scheduled to be held in October 2001.
